Finally I´m back to give you some updates what´s been going on lately!

Now the album is done, I have got the master in my hand (or in the player I should say).

I´m so pleased with the result, it sounds so damn good, the songs are top notch & I have nothing more to add to it, I´ve delievered a great fuckin album!!!

Also got the song Evil ways in a another Hollywood flick, Concrete Blondes.

Have´nt seen it yet, but they shure do have good taste in music!

And today, my beloved queen made me walk on ice, yup the lake right outside my frontdoor.

Scary business, I do not know how thick it was, but you could see through the ice...well a few great photos was taken and will be used as promotion.

And of course there´s been some heavy updates on this blog, you´ll now see knobs for news, photos, video, tour & discography when you enter this site.

And feel free to use these anytime you want!

I have some more news to tell you all about in a few weeks, but this is all for now.

Those 10 gems will ease your hunger for some real music during next spring!, there´s also *two duets on the album, it´s an amazing honour for me to been working with such legends in my humble opinion!

And some of you might wonder, only 10 songs..., well I think it´s the perfect number of songs on an album!

So it was a little bit of a " kill your darlings moment" while choosing which 10 songs who´d make it to the album, but it was´nt actually that hard to choose which ten it was going to be, the songs chose themselves and stood out in the crowd.

I have a few bonustracks as well, that will end up as b-sides and on compilations here & there.

One of those bonustracks will be a duet together with one of absolute favourite singers, she´s from Canada and I´ll let you know all about her when everything is ready and such.

I also got some words from the eastern part of Germany, that I have a great fanbase there, and want me to come and play the boogaloo for them musiclovers.

We´ll see what we come up with during springtime since touring is so much fun, and I have´nt been in those parts of Germany for a loooong time.

During this weekend I found out that you actually can buy "Evil Ways" as your cellphone signal at Mobile17, now you all have to get your cellphone this asskicking ringtone!!!.

How rad is´nt that!!

And I finally got to see PUNCTURE the other day, where that very same song is played for about 2 minutes in a supercool scene with Chris Evans.

On Amazon it says that the dvd release the 3rd of january, and you can pre-order the dvd already

And the soundtrack to PUNCTURE is pretty,pretty cool, what do you say about a few great songs from Ryan Bingham, R.L Burnside among others together with me.

It´s a killer soundtrack I´ll ya´ll!!!

Hello lovers of boogaloo!

Been a while since there was some writing here, but I have´nt been lazy, well just a little bit since I went down south to the Canarie Islands (ESP) for a week of vaccation with some real nice weather and a whole lot of food & beers of course!

And while being down there enjoying myself, I also did some work!

I did two shows at the fantastic CAFE ROKOKO, met some really fantastic people there as well.

The first show it was a packed house, with half of the crowd standing outside on the streets, which made the crowd even bigger since the people who just was strolling down the avenue just stayed to enjoy the fine art of boogaloo!

And the boogaloo was a little bit too loud for the neighbours ´cause the strong arm of the Canarie law showed up with a ticket...well, it was actually nothing seriuos but mr policeman had to give the beautiful owner some sort of paper since the curious neighbours were watching them talk outside the place.

The show went on, and so it did the second night as well, and during the second show I made a duet with the talented girl who opened for both nights.

And after this duet there was 4 girls crying since it was so beautiful apperently!, so I left the Canarie Islands in good spirit of making such impact on both the Canarian Police department and the girls of this lovely island!!

And yesterday, I went to the studio to do the finishing touches of the upcoming album "DIFFERENT STROKES/DIFFERENT FOLKS".

Vocals on 4 songs and some slideguitar was on the menue, and fuck me sideways I´m so proud of this new album.

It will containe 10 superior gems, and there´s 3 total kickass leftovers that will be released as b-sides.

The reason there´s 3 leftovers, is that I think 10 songs is a perfect fit for an album, so we just decided those 10 gems who was the most perfect for the album.

And it feels so good to have such great leftovers that could stand for themselves!

Now it´s only a little bit icing on the cake left, then it´s gonna be ready for mix & mastering.

The artwork are in progress, and the light in the tunnel is bigger than ever!

Once again Sweden! The musician and songwriter Christian Smedström has already left behind several bands. Before founding Christian & The 2120's, Christian was active in groups such as Full Metal Jacketz, The Awesome Machine and On Parole. The number 2120 is a nod to the record label Chess Records, which had its address at 2120 Michigan avenue in Chicago.

The directors Adam and Mark Kassen have chosen a track from the debut album "Nolo Contendere" for their film "Puncture" and the song "Evil Ways". Smedström was on tour in Germany and performed a street concert in front of the U.S. Embassy in Berlin with Thomas Pontén when he got the news.

However, Christian & The 2120's make their own best advertisement, as "Nolo Contendere" is an album of unseemly attraction. Dirty, relaxed, sweaty, playful, rough, angular and and and. What more could you ask for from a catchy offering such as this? Not much, because Smedström clearly absorbed the music of at least John Lee Hooker, R.L. Burnside and the Rolling Stones. About that, one can certainly agree with the press release. Personally, I would like to add Skip James to that list.

One can't imagine a nicer path to hell. "Gone To Hell" is one of the quieter moments on the record and in the way it's been recorded, the band is simply likeable. The piano jingles and together with the acoustic guitar, they set the theme. Smedström sings with a soft voice, almost whispering with Kristoffer Ragnstam giving restrained rhythmic beats on the skins.

The combo can play rustic rock as well. For example, the opener "What Else Is New" already opens the hearts of the listeners. Here the electric guitars are active with Joel Lundberg on his piano somewhat in the background, but when he shines, his support is just great. Out of the depths grumbles the bass in "Evil Ways", as well as slightly distorted sounding vocals from the songwriter. A nice effect, just like the excellent use of slide guitar. The skins enter! Here, just like in the first piece, the guys love to draw up the tempo and volume.

At five and a half minutes, "Pin Your Soul" is the longest track on "Nolo Contendere". Here it goes to some desolate places and the psychedelic feeling really comes to fruition. Moving towards the end, the number enters a slide-festival accompanied by spacey noises. "Freefall" is a wonderful rootsy singer/songwriter ballad, something very pleasant in the context of the other offerings. Then allow Christian & The 2120's to once again rock to the blues, Lundberg's groovy organ playing fitting in quite well here. "Bringer Of Heartache (And Such)" is one of my favorites from the disc.

"The Last Kiss" is alive with the stylish ambiance of the opener and this growing momentum found in many of the tracks, which may now be considered one of the hallmarks of the 2120's. Clearly in the blues, but also in "It Ain't Cool", typical Stones-uh-uhs are put in.

"Nolo Contendere" is a really good album with lots of slide guitar and even in this debut there is a clearly visible independent touch by front man Christian Smedström. The record can be purchased from Cactus Rock Records, established in December 2010. Their philosophy can be seen on their homepage: "Our bands and artists come from the southwestern United States, Germany and Europe. For them we undertake the exclusive mail order sales for Germany and Europe."

This album should provide suitably large sales.

It rumbles and rattles, the sound is crunchy, it's as if it came from a ramshackle garage in a Swedish backyard. Although large parts of Sweden may seem quite tranquil, Swedish musicians know how to hit the nail on the head and understand thoroughly how to officially rock. The young Swedes Christian & The 2120's demonstrated in their latest album, "Nolo Contendere", an audible soft-spot for classic rock and its tattered offshoot blues-rock.

Christian Smedström's 12-song collection could be called classical roots-rock. A bubbling brew, it seems rooted knee-deep in the seventies. The guitars fire erratically and the drums thunder violently, with psychedelic moments evoked by various reverb effects and an intoxicating piano. This is all a little reminiscent of the humid south of France wine cellar where the ROLLING STONES recorded their "Exile on Main Street" sessions. Then one thinks a bit of ZZ TOP, or even of the more recent, so seductive musicians MORELAND and ARBUCKLE. Greasy, sweaty and in short sleeves. Completely transparent, free, open, away from the usual restrictive conventions, focusing on the blues, but simply going out, the main thing is that it's fun, someone out there will like this stuff.

Yes sir, Mr. Smedström, this weird melange really does it for me. What? "Nolo Contendere"? You're putting the blame on yourself, Mr. Smedström? I nevertheless accuse you of having recorded this album so that the pure enjoyment of playing and a fresh carefree musicality is not to be dismissed out of hand. Well, now what?

Touring, Mtv and other fun stuff!

Hello again my dear friends!

The reason that I have´nt updated anything here for the last two weeks is that I´ve been touring Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands & Germany together with my friends The Don Darlings.

It was as it used to be on tour, both ups & downs but being on tour is always fun so even the downers were kinda fun.

I would like to give a big up to the Don Darlings for a great time! and of course all the nice people I met down the road.

Puncture, the movie!

Yes, the 23rd of september the movie PUNCTURE with captian america , Chris Evans in the leading roll had it´s premeire in the States.

My song Evil ways, from my debut album Nolo Contendere is featured in the movie in over 2 minutes, that´s pretty cool!.

Other great news is that I now have supercool white t-shirts for the ladies in my shop as well, so there´s white ones for the ladies and black for the gents!

Last show booked for the European leg of the tour

Yep!

Tha last open date is now booked the october 10th, and the city & venue are Venue 219 in sweet,sweet Antwerp (BE).

It´s one of my favorite bars in the world, and this time we will play at their new venue as well, gonna be awesome.

Also found a great revue of my single "TEN" in the new edition of Scandinavian biggest music magazine GAFFA, I got 4/5 so it ain´t that bad I must say !

I have wondered for a while, been gone through my notebooks for a great title for my upcoming album.

And one of the first things I found was this "DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS".

And that is the title of my upcoming full length album with release winter 2011-12 sometime, we´ll see when it´s the right time and how it will be released, hopefully also on vinyl since we all love that black plastic thing right!

Feels so good to name the record!

Also one more show is booked, it´s a houseparty in the outskirts of a small town called Borås, if you wanna join us, give me a mail and I´ll send you the invitation.

There will be some film students there to make some documentary of it so it will be a cool party.

Yes, the day after I´ve played two nights at the Canarie Islands (Esp) I will play a show at the infamous KONTIKI in Gotheburg boogaloocity again.

It´s my great Johan who will celebrate his birthday with a bang!

I guess it´s a private party at first but around showtime it will be open for public!

The date are the november 19th, it´s a fine saturday to do the boogaloo people!

I´ve promised Johan to give him & the people some serious kickass show, and so it will be, a whole lot of blood, sweat & beer with the ears ringing!!

The tour together with The Don Darlings in october got a little bit shorter, or as it was planned from the beginning actually.

The reason is that I´m heading for the big apple, NEW YORK CITY beteween october 18th until october 23rd to do some boogaloo!

3 more shows booked & the new EP

Hello everyone!

I had the first rehearsel tonight together with the mighty The Don Darlings.

Man! i was actually nervous for the first time in a very long time, it´s a whole different ballgame to join in and play some other bands stuff.

But it went really great, we went through 9 songs I guess out of aprox 20 songs.

So I will practice a shitload in the near future so I make these boys happy!

I will open up for them during the whole tour so it will be a whole lot of guitarplaying and singing for me during these weeks, but I love it so there´s nothing heavy about that, and their songs are so damn great as well so it will be a treat to play them every night.

The latest addition of citys that will some boogaloo are Copenhagen, Denmark & Hamburg, Germany plus a festival gig up Hagfors, Sweden

And earlier today I hooked up with the knobtwisting wizard T.Bövik to get my hands on the mastered EP called " 06.43 " which will be released during the fall.

And fuckin hell!!!, such a great sounding EP this is I´ll tell you all!!!

There will be 7 tracks on this one, with one bonustrack.

I will release it both as a digital and as a physical cd( if I had the money I would have made vinyl of course! ), but the digital buyers won´t get the bonus track.

Yep!, I just got confirmed for the Festival LIVE AT HEART in Örebro, Swe.

It´s a city festival around the resturants & pubs in the city, gonna be nice to play a festival without the mud and tents!!!

Gonna be a blast to play some boogaloo for the people up there.

I will play both material from my debut " Nolo Contendere " and some really hipshaking new tunes from the upcoming, yet untitled full lenght + a few tracks from the EP " 06.43 " that will be released during the fall.

Hello everyone!

Yesterday I was at the best show this year so far, the Canadian band The Sadies played at the club Woody West here in my hometown.

And it was even better than the last time I saw them, amazing band with even more amazing songs!

And while being at this greatgreat club I got the news that I will play there as support act to another great band, The Luck Now Pact the 18th of june.

Since this a really special evening I will have both my producers mr -K- and Jazzy Joel with me on stage.

This is the first time in over a years time that we´ll play live together again as an trio, so this is gonna be superspecial.

I´m so psyched over this!!!

I´m just got notified that it will be a videoshoot of that gig.

There will be some filming before the show, during the show, me playing outside the shop and much more.

So I hope that you all come by to participate at this great video and show!

The show starts at 15.00, but I will play a few songs on the street before the show as well.

I´ve had to move the releaseparty of my upcoming single from may 7th to june 10th due various reasons.

Looking forward to that indeed, I´ll try to book some more dates while being at the eastcoast, maybe even tale the boat over sea to pay Helsinki a visit, that would be awesome!

I got some new rough mixes of 4 new songs from the upcoming album, and holy F*** what an album this will turn out to be.

Can´t wait to finish them up properly with the greatest mix and master and having them on this lovely piece of plastic to crank the stereo real loud!

I have got the news from the Usa that the movie, " PUNCTURE " where the song Evil Ways are featured will have it´s premiere the 11th of april at TRIBECA film festival, New York.

That feels awesome!!!

Other great awesome news from the big country in the west is that the legendary carmakers CHEVY will use my song " Some People " in their radio commercial during a 9 month long period!!!

That´s also feels so great!

I´m so sorry for the lame updating here, but there´s been so much stuff the last few weeks.

I´m not complaining that I have had loads of things to do or as the previous weeks, but sometime you have to recoup yourself.

Me & Thomas Ponten went to Berlin during a 4 day trip to spread the gospel of boogaloo, there was a show booked in Hamburg as well but I was forced to cancel that one due some strange circumstances.

So we stayed put in lovely Berlin instead.

We did 5 shows during this 4 day log trip.

I also did my first show on the street, and I choosed a great spot to do it.

I played just outside the American embassy at Brandenburger Tor!!

It was awesome, but also a bit scary at the same time.

Did 3 gigs that day, everyone was around 2 hours long so at the last one my throat was pretty sored I must say.

The whole trip was really great, it´s not the last time I will spend a weekend in Berlin I´ll tell you that people.

I also got the privilige to meet up with El Pres from CACTUS ROCK records, who distrobute my records in Germany throughout his mailorder.

And not to forget all the sweet people we met during those days.

I´ve also been recording twice since the last update, some songs for the upcoming album which is due to be released in the fall.

And some blues oriented songs to be released as soon as they are done properly, it will contain both acoustic & electric songs.

I´ve written so many songs and not to mess up the album with putting on too many songs or songs that clash with each other on one album I´ve decided to make two different albums instead, so there´s a red thread through both albums.

I have some more recording sessions to do before they both are ready for printing.

And speaking of printing, I have the new single right off the printing desk in my hands.

It will kick major ass!!!.

In mid may you´ll find this great gem at the recordstores and digital download places.

A killer weekend!

Yup!

Had two shows this weekend, one electric & fierce duo show at Sticky Fingers with the mighty -K- behind the kit.

A lot of old friends & cousins showed up wich was really nice.

Great crowd and at this gig I did something I never done before, ever.

I handed over the guitar to -K- and just sang, wich was scary but I pulled it off, and there will be more of this for sure in the future!

Also got the gig on both video and audio recorded so there will end some great footage up here pretty soon.

And on the saturday I did acoustic show with Esben Willems on his tiny kit and Thomas Ponten on mandolin and additional guitars.

It was awesome since it was the premiere evening for our club, KLUBB HONKY TONK that me and two friends having.

It was a soldout evening and a lot of people did´nt get in, that´s was awesome to play these acoustic versions of my songs with some superior harmony vocals from Esben & Thomas, sometimes it felt & sounded like it was the Byrds who played instead of me, wich felt soooo damn good!

And Thomas did some killer solos on both mandolin and guitars, and course Esben showed how to play drums, he´s such backbone to rely on with some fierce shops, I´m in awe over these guys talents!!!

Now I will prepare for the show at Henriksberg the 26th of february, it will contain some few suprises for shure, so drop by then!

Yeah, we had some really great times in good ol´ Uddevalla!.
The place were packed, it starts to pay off to visit this lovely city with all the beautiful people who lives there and sure knows how to do the boogaloo!

Esben did a fantastic job on his tiny, tiny tiny kit!, since the bassdrum (26 inches ) did´nt fit in the car he reduced his set and made great sounding floortom convert it to a bassdrum!
He had that bassdrum and a snare, hihat & one cymbal, and oboy did that sound awesome!!!
I´ll put up some videoclips pretty soon so you´ll see how great this evening was!

We played for 70 minutes!, kinda impressive i must say, felt like 20 minutes at the most!
Also tried out some new songs, felt so great to play those new gems live!

Yesterday I had a rehearsel for the KLUBB HONKY TONK show at Cafe Hängmattan, it´s going to be a acoustic trio of the 2120´s this time, I have added Thomas Ponten on guitar & mandolin & Esben on percussion.
It´s going to be totally awesome to perform the songs in this rootsy kinda way, loads of great harmony vocals and of course, that great mandolin!

I´m also having two other shows to do this month, one together with mr -K- behind the kit and one with mr Esben behind a slightly bigger kit than the last time, first up is Sticky Fingers, the it´s that acoustic show I mentioned before at HONKY TONK and then it´s Henriksberg, you´ll find all dates to the right.

At Honky Tonk & Henriksberg I´ll record both shows for a future release, so do yourself a favor and drop by.

And other great news is that I will do some touring in october together with the mighty THE DON DARLINGS.
Not only as support, I will also be a stand in guitarplayer for Mads, who´s having a baby during this period, and I see this as an honour to helpout.
The tour will include Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, maybe some more countries to be added, but I´ll keep you all posted for sure.
The tour are about to take place during 1st until 14th of october so keep checking in for updates.

And finally, the february 6th, the last studiosession starts for the upcoming album, I´m soooo phyched about this! WHOOOOOOOHOOOO!!!!

Awesome day after all!

Today I had a loooong rehearsel together with mr Esben Willems.
We met at his rehearsel space around 15.00, and as usual I worked the graveyard shift at my regular job the night before, so did´nt get that much sleep, since it´s wintertime, and as always during wintertime, it snows from time to time right, can you imagine that :-D

And because of that, the commute trains and busses always, and I mean always!! running late or in worst case scenario is cancelled since it have snowed again this winter..., well I managed to only being 15 minutes late for the rehearsel.

And such a great day of wild blistering boogaloo it was!, and I´m happy that my voice still feels great after been singing nonstop for over 5 hours with only a small break for pizza, could it be the magic pizza or are my vocal chords just cool with it ;-).
The show at KÖKET, Uddevalla will get aprox 70 minutes of pure boogaloo in it´s finest prime!
There will be some old songs, some new songs & some borrowed songs, gonna be wicked!!!

Still I´m feeling a bit blue though, since I´ve been away from my queens since friday and leaving a truckload of buisness work for my lovely woman to take care of, wich makes me getting bad conscience, she has loads of better things to do than doing my stuff.
BUT, I´ll compensate her for sure!, and ooooh yes, I love her so!

Other great news is that I´ve booked the studio for the final sessions for the new album between february 6th until 14th.
I´m really looking forward to that, to wrap up the album.
And I might even have an title for the album now as well, it´s an excerpt from a quote from Ben Knox Miller from the great band The Low Anthem.
I´ll have " taste " that one a bit more before I let you lovers know about it.

Aweright, I have to work some more, yes I´m at the regular job, again...

Change of date and more!

The premiere of the new club, KLUBB HONKY TONK were me and my two great friends, Markus & Johan are going to take place february 12th.

It´s gonna be a some kind of semi private club, so if you wanna go and witness some great bands, listening some great blues/country/alt-country/americana/soul/rock n roll this is the place to go to.

The plan is to have this great club once a month so keep popping in for more updates and such.

And if you have, know any great bands that you know should fit at this club, don´t hesitate to contact me.

It´s located at a classic music spot in Gothenburg, MUSIKENS HUS with a great stage, a great bar, some great food and some really great staff!.

I also jammed some with Esben Willems of the mighty MARULK yesterday, and oooooh yeah!, Uddevalla january 21st is surely getting the Ulk-modified Boogaloo of the 2120´s for sure, and not to forget Henriksberg februray 26th.

It´s gonna be smokin!!!

Soul singing!

Went by the studio to track some singing, and it feels so gooooood to hear when I have done one take of one of the songs when the producer shouts! YEEEEESSS!!!!, that´s soulsinging I´ll tell ya!!!.

I guess my medicine to sing good is to being tired beyond belief, having a headache & bit of a cold... as strange as it sounds it did the trick today!

We also started to noodle around a brand new song, yet untitled though, we went for the dramatic "spanish" feeling, that´s the best words I can describe this great song to be.

Next time we´ll bring in mr Stefan Sporsen on some horns to this song and on the " Ain´t no place to fall behind ", gonna be wicked!

Other great news is that I have booked two more shows for that short trip to Germany next year, Berlin gets two visits at Soul Cat & Beakers and Hamburg´s Mobile Blues Club get one visit of some great acoustic boogaloo.

Aweright, if we don´t speak more during the last days of 2010, I´ll drop in the first days of 2011 to pop some more great news.

Studio & live

I entered studio Scola with mighty -K- & Joel december 18th & 19th, we started to record 5 new songs for the upcoming album.

The songs that was nailed was Room with a view, Face the sun, Ain´t no place to fall behind, Easy on you & Set me free.

There´s some smoking moments that got down on tape I´ll tell you that much!!!, damn the new album gonna be a killer!

I´ll be back in the studio pretty soon again to finish them off, since my publisher is heading down to MIDEM in january and he´ll bring some great rough mixes with him to show the media, feels great.

Now I only have to take some new promo photos as well, but first things first as the old saying goes.

I have also booked some new shows for the winter and spring.

As I´ve mentioned before there´s a small German tour coming up in march together with my friend Thomas on mandolin.

The first show is booked at the cool place SOUL CAT, Berlin and there will be 3 more shows added.

And the other week, I got some REALLY great news concerning USA, but I cannot reveil those great news yet, but soon, pretty soon you´ll also know this :-D

I will post some pic´s from the studio when my lady has arrived home, since I don´t have a clue how to do that...

Gothenburg gets boogaloo!!

Yep!

The 26th of february I will do a show together with my Irish friend & his band, Eamonn Dowd & the Racketeers at Henriksberg and the legendary club Showdown.

It´s gonna be fun, try some new songs live & maybe even join Eamonn on some songs as well, we´ll see what happens.

We have´nt decided yet who´s going to be "headline" but I guess Eamonn will end the evening of boogaloo since it´s going to be the show for the drummer since he´s moving back to Australia after this show.

I´m really looking forward to this evening!

There will be a show the 25th of fevruary some where as well but we´re working on the details on this show as we speak, more info soon.

New shows coming up!!!

Yep, that well known itchy feeling when you have´nt played live for a while have paid a visit a few times since I was forced to cancell this falls tour.
I have booked two shows in Uddevalla, at the great place KÖKET.
The first show will be january 21st & the second one the april 8th.
It´s going to be a blast to visit all my boogaloo friends in Uddevalla again, those shows there is always wicked & full of love!

On the first of those Uddevalla shows I will have the great danish dynamite mr Esben Willems the boogie outfit MARULK on drums & backing vocals.
On the second, I´m not sure yet but it´s a long time until then !

Other great news is that the Hollywood movie, " Puncture" who are going to use some great music of the 2120´s have switched song for a better part in the movie.
Now they will use "EVIL WAYS" instead and they will use 2 minutes & 3 seconds as background music at a party, feels sooooo great!!!

new recordings coming up!

I´m teaming up with my great friends mr Thomas Ponten & mr Esben Willems monday the 22nd for rehearsing some songs for an upcoming release.

Since the show at NO1 guitarshop theses kind of versions of the songs been growing stronger in my mind, so a few songs from the album, some new ones from the upcoming album and some old favorites is going to be recorded live in Thomas living room acousticly.

Me on guitars, vocals, Thomas on mandolin & additional guitars, vocals & Esben on percussion, vocals.

The songs will get a more "country flavor ", since I love some great country music and I thought I had to record these songs in that way also.'I´m going to pick the best ones and make an 5 track ep, and hopefully also on vinyl.

I´ll keep you updated about this for sure.

Also more recordings is coming up for the upcoming album, since the producer is back home again from his tour.

A new session for 4-5 new gems is being planned to be recorded during december.

Hello kids!

I´m just popping in to say that the show I did october 15th was AWESOME!!!

Playing in a NO 1 guitarshop first felt a little bit frightning in front of a bunch of guitarnoodlers, but it all turned out really, really great.

And I have to express my big thanx to mr Thomas. Ponten who joined me on mandolin & some acoustic guitar.

I had such a blast and I will record 5-8 songs from the album in that stripped down, rootsy & country-ish way the closest weeks and it will be recorded live, just the way they should.

This cd, and hopefully also a 7" vinyl will only be sold at liveshows in a very limited run.

I also have added a new song at myspace, it´s taken from the upcoming album and I must say I´m so psyched about how the album is coming together.

I also will do some jamming & songwriting together with my friend, Esben who play drums for the great band MARULK.

We just have to fix some logistics first, some of those songs might end up on upcoming album also, we´ll see what happens but it´s gonna end up in something for sure.

I´m having my vaccation at the moment, writing songs and preparing for some intense recording sessions in the beginning of December when mr -K- is back from touring Germany & Japan.

Yep people!, it´s now confirmed.
The great boogaloo tune, " It Ain´t cool " from my debut "Nolo Contendere" will be featured in the Hollywood indipendent movie " PUNCTURE " with it´s release date during 2011.
You´ll find more info about the movie here.

I´m so phsyched about this, my music in an movie, and yet an american movie with a budget that are insane!!!
Well, as my old dad once said, " good things happens to good people son! ", I guess he´s right, again!

I´m preparing for the afternoon show here in Gothenburg on this saturday october the 16th at NO 1 Guitarshop.
It feels kinda strange to do a show in a " guitarshop " with the room full of six string noodlers with some superskills and such, well I will do my thing together with my great friend, Thomas Ponten of the great band LITTLE GREEN who´s gonna back me up on mandolin & harmony vocals on half of the songs.
It´s gonna be one of those rootsy shows I have´nt done for a long time, gonna be a blast, and yes of course!, it´s going to be both taped & recorded on video just for all you people that don´t have the time or able to come down.
So it´s gonna end up on Youtube, Myspace & here of course.

And it will also be the last show for a while, I´ll concentrate to write and record new songs for the rest of the year and being home with my queen & our sweet, sweet puppy Doris!

Some new songs & some news

Yes, as you all know I´m in the progress writing & recording new songs.

And this week has been craaaaazy.

Since my great publisher was about to pay a visit to my american publisher, Bisycle Music Company this weekend.

There was some stressful moments to have some great stuff with him to show them, again.

So my great producer/mentor/friend, mr -K- Ragnstam decided after been talking to me & Anders at Misty Music that they should bring in some heavy champs in the buisness to shake america up a little bit.

Two songs of the upcoming album were mixed by Mattias Glavå who done some excellent work with Dungen, Håkan Hellström, Broder Daniel among others.

He´s a real wizard I must say, and he´s all bout mixing on real to real tape & such great stuff.

The mastering on these two tracks was handled by the man who made miracles with great artists like Jose Gonzalez, El Perro Del Mar, Fontän among others.

The result was breathtaking!!, even though we had a blowtorch under the ass since we had to get things done reeeeally fast.

Now there´s some negoations with american tv series & movies so keep your fingers crossed that it all turn out the way we want.

So that´s where I´m at right now, will hit the studio again pretty soon to record even more songs before november starts, so that feels just great.

Some great & some sad news

First the sad news, I´m forced to cancel the tour that were supposed to start october 21st.

There are for various reasons that I can´t do anything about.

So the boogaloo party has to wait until the springtime of 2011 instead.

The good news is that i had some very fruitful meetings with my publisher among other buisness people the other day, so the future is actually looking really bright, even though it would be awesome to pay the boogaloo at those great venues that were already booked, BUT sometimes you have to make decisions that are´nt that easy, but still the right ones.

Hello loving people!

Sorry for the lame updating here, but I have been recording & rehearsing A LOT lately with both the 2120´s and also my other stomping rockoutfit, THE BLACK MARBLES.

Who´s planning to hit the Music-A-Matic studio around december/january with producer Henryk Lipp( who done albums with D.A.D. The Hellacopters among others).

I have recorded 5 new songs for the upcoming album with the mighty PULCA Bros again, my second album that is and so far it feels sooooo damn good.

The song titles on these 5 gems of boogaloo are : TEN, SUNDAY, FADE AWAY, NEED OF BEING COOL & AIN´T MY CROSS.

More songs will be recorded during this cold winter after the tour.

I´m so happy with the result, and pretty soon you´ll get some sneakpreviews here and on Myspace when the time is right.

I´m also booking shows for the tour coming up in october/november.

A few dates more to fill up and we´re ready to do the boogaloo on the european roads again, looking forward to that indeed!

Also have som great stuff in the pipeline wich I ain´t can tell you all yet, but maybe after this weekend there´s gonna be a big bang here on this great blog ;-)

Yesterdays boogaloo!

Yesterdays boogaloo at Swedens finest Tikibar, Kontiki was a absolute rad evening!
First I was a little bit bummed out that I missed Imperial State Electric at the festival Way Out West, but there was no chance for me to get there in time, and I had such more greater thing scheduled during the day, Iggy & the Stooges with the great great James Williamsson on guitar for the first time in over 40 years or so.
And they fucking blew the festival to smithereens, first song was none other than the greatest punkrock gems of all time if you aske, Raw power!, it does´nt get better than this, and Iggy was in his prime so it was a really great warm up for my own show tonight.

I took a walk over the street to the venue, and when arriving I met -K- who also just arrived, we both were in really great spirits, we started to put our gear in order.
I must says a big thank you to Alex, the guitarplayer of the Tracks, who also were about play later tonight for letting me crank his amp.

Time were 22.00 and it was boogalootime!.
The always so great mr -K- started the first song and of we went!
During the fourth song, around before the last verse of the brand new song "Fade away" the guitar amp goes aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh, never really found out what it was or what happened cause I just changed a cable and played some slide with a glass full of beer and we took of where the amp sounded so strange & sounded great again, no harm done, only some more show really!

It was a really intense show, and a really HOT one, we just floored it to a sea of smiling faces!
I would like thank each & everyone of those musiclovers who were there last night, your cheering, handclaps & singing are priceless to me, THANX!!!!

I will not perform in my hometown until mid october, and then it´s going to be a acoustic soloshow at the NO 1 GUITARSHOP, so once again I´m so glad so many came out to see me & -K- blasting the boogaloo!

Greeeeat weekend

Sitting at home and thinking about the great weekend I just had, in city a little bit north of my hometown called Uddevalla.

I had two shows to do at this cool place called Köket.

It was me doing the solotrip since -K- was up in Karlskoga playing at a festival there, and Hampus was up in Stockholm playing with The White Mooze & then Mr. Thunder was heading for Prague on a holiday.

So I decided to do those shows solo.

It turned out to be such great weekend with a whole lot loving people, smiling, singing & dancing people when I played that fine boogaloo.

The second show on the saturday was fierce!, and here´s some footage from the friday late night party we had at Casa Wallinis rehearsing one song where they , Mr Wallini & Mr Twodox joined me on digiriidoo & cajunbox for the gig on saturday.

Another gig is booked for the upcoming tour in the fall, november 6th we will do the boogaloo for the third time at this great place.

And for this great third time I actually have cd´s with me, since the first time the album was recorded, the second time the cd´s were delayed ´til the day after the show which was a real bummer since the people really wanted to buy cd´s, BUT this time they can bring some sweet boogaloo with them home after the show.

I´m in a great mood today, the sun is shining, me and my missus are getting some great & lovely friends over on a barbeque so I´m enjoying life indeed!!!

I will do a wicked duo show at Gothenburgs finest (and only) Tikibar, KONTIKI & hosted by the great Sebastian & his great club Goofy vs Regular the 13th of august.

It´s going to be a great preparty for IGGY & The STOOGES at the Way Out West Festival that are across the street or if you come in late, the coolest afterparty.

Yep people!
I got invited to this great place called Köket to play some boogaloo for two days.
I did a last minute show there not long ago, and got invited back.
It´s an "Alternative Fjord festival" to the regular Fjord festival they have the very same weekend.

It´s going to be a blast to share stage those two great evenings with both Rub-A-Dub & Lars Wallin & TribeLars.

I havent decided which format I will perform with at these shows yet though, it could be solo but it could also be a duo-show with drums.
We´ll see what happens since the drummers I want to have with me are all booked at some other shows, of there´s some other kickass drummers but still, it´s also great to do some solo shows again, since the last two ones was really, really good ones but we´ll see what happens.

What a great fucking weekend!
Me and my missus arrived in Åmål for the 19th annual ÅMÅLS BLUES Festival on wendsday the 7th of july, she had an exhibition at Åmål´s Art hall during the whole festival so she needed to prepare her exhibition before the grand opening on the thursday & I played 4 shows between thursday to saturday, two official ones and two private ones.
The first show actually made my whole weekend, I was playing outside the art exhibition at the grand opening, and while doing that I see a car pull up across the street to stop outside the hotel.
And out steps the legendary T-MODEL FORD, eyeballing the noise over the street, that felt awesome!!!, but the great stuff don´t end there.
After the show I was invited to take a bear together with the great Festival General, Nils at the hotel across the street.

And off we went, and inside the resturant we ran into mr T. M. F who´s having lunch.
Here I get introduced to him and just before I´m about to shake this legends hand he give me thumbs up for the boogaloo i made outside like 15 minutes earlier.
I´m so stoked over this!!!

I ran into mr T. M. F a few times during the festival and he´s so sweet, and impressive at the same time.
Always had time to share a smile & some small talk, one time about my woman who also got introduced to him later that weekend and told me to "put a mark " on her, otherwise she would end up riding his train and then i´m done...hahaha.

On the last day I met him again at one of the different venues at the festival, he asked to sit down next to him, what an honour!!! while Cadilac John played together with the way beyond cool Bill Abel.
We sat there listening to some great blues and I was listening to him making fun of those "young boys up on the stage " & eyeballing every woman in sight.
And I asked him to take a picture together which he said " Sure man!" and I got these great pictures of me and him, this is going to be framed and up on the wall at home for sure.

And his own show was just awesome!, and by the time his set was supposed to be over , he just kept playing, who would argue with him, the headliner of the festival...hahaha
What an honour to hang with a legend like him, 90 years old and kicking some serious ass!
I´m in awe!.

Time schedules for my upcoming apperences

Yeah! The festival season are in full bloom and I will play at to really great ones this weekend and next week(end).

First up is H2H Festival in Krokstrand (NO) on this very saturday, me and the mr. K. are entering the stage at 16.30 for some really bad ass & gritty boogaloo.

And the time schedules for next weeks shows at ÅMÅLs BLUESFEST (SWE) will be:

Thursday the 8th of july I play at the opening ceremony at Åmål´s city ArtGallery around 12.00 aprox.

There will also some really really great art hanging there as well made by the lovely ÅSA STRAND.

And the show on friday will be between 14.00 to 16.00 aprox at the OSKARS stage, I´ll probably do two sets of some fine boogaloo with none less than K. RAGNSTAM behind the kit.

And I might end up jamming a whole lot during this great weekend also, who wouldn´t on weekend & a great festival like this right!

Some great & some sad news

The sad news is that I have to cancel these shows for various reasons, the show at GETAWAY festival, Gävle (swe) july 10th, and the two shows in Stockholm (swe) at Viktoria & Klubb Gås the 15th & 16th of july are now cancelled.

I will come back in the fall for sure but now ain´t the time, Gävle & Stockholm!, we love you anyway!

The great news is that yesterdays rehearsel with the fantastic mr K. RAGNSTAM behind the kit for the duoshows this saturday the july 3rd at H2H Festival in Krokstrand (NO) & the two shows at Åmål´s Bluesfest gonna be totally wicked!!!.

Really psyched for those shows, and of course enjoy some really great music as well in the sun with a cold tasty beer in my hand.

And the vocal recordings on the last 4 recorded songs will take place after the shows at Åmål´s bluesfest.

Opened up my mailbox today, I had a mail from publisher which made me really happy!.

It´s concerning the States, that much I can tell you today, I´ll keep my fingers crossed that everything will go as planned, then it will be a whole lot of boogaloo next spring!, i´ll tell you that my friends!

Stockholm shows the 15th & 16th of july!

Got it all confirmed tonight that we will spread the gospel of boogaloo two nights in a row up in Stockholm.
The first show is at this old classic place called VIKTORIA, same as the royal girl who got married the other day you know, and will she be there too...
It´s located at infamous KUNGSTRÄDGÅRDEN.

And the second show will be at SUGAR BAR, which is hosted by the great KLUBB GÅS people.
There´s gonna be some really fun days up there in the capitol the 15th & 16th of july, so spread the word and meet us in the bar and try to drink us under the table!, it´s a bet people!!!

New shows coming in!

Yes people!, we are heading up to the capitol once again this summer.

We will play at this cool place VIKTORIA at Kungsträdgården, Stockholm the 15th of july.

And I´m also working on a show at the great KLUBB GÅS, Stockholm the 16th of july and either a show in Gothenburg or Oskarshamn the 17th of july, i´ll keep you updated for sure!.

Todays choice of music is without a doubt the new TOM PETTY album "Mojo", it´s god damn great!!!, so i recomend you musiclovers support your local recordstore and buy this fine piece of plastic.

Wait, wait, wait...

I´m no good in waiting, not one bit.
There´s a whole lot of great stuff just around the corner, but I can´t expose them yet, and it bugs me, BUT!
It´s a goodthing a good friend told me last night, at least there is some really great stuff for you (me that is!) have in front of you, and he´s a wise man my friend.

I also went to see the PULCA Bros do a really great gig at a really cool coffeshop called Marmelad in one of the coolest parts of town today.

studio session

Oh yes, the other day I entered the fantastic studio Scola once again.

At first it was like it would be postponed, BUT I have those super pro´s around me so it did happen of course.

I was putting down guitars, drums, keys on 4 new tracks, the intention was to record two different ones than we ended up to record, we take those other two further down the road instead.

The titles of the 4 songs that got on tape are:

"The need of being cool", "Second hand jesus", "Ten" & "the one without title"

It was a great session since we aproached the songs in a different way than we use to do, the PULCA BROS have a plan for this...hahaha

The rest of the vocals, percussion etc will be recorded in a couple of weeks, since the BRO´s headed out on tour last monday.

But soon they are back home and ready to finish up these great tunes of mine!

There´s no rehearsels with other musicians this week, since one is at the festival SWEDEN ROCK & the other one is on tour in Germany so I´ll keep my pace doing some final touches on my vocals for the songs i mentioned earlier.

I would like fast forward this week really!, i´m no good in waiting...

Good things happen all the time

Yeah, some great things been added in the pipeline the last week

We got a show booked in Berlin at WHITE TRASH FASTFOOD november 5th, so more dates keep add on the tour. We´ll have a few more dates confirmed soon so keep checking in.

Also had a duo & a trio rehearsel for the shows here in Sweden that are coming up early next month, and it feels so good to work with such proffesionals that make me sound so good!

Gonna be some wicked shows I´ll tell you that! We´ll give them Swedes some badass boogaloo for sure!

And for all you people who sent me all those nice emails about my music.I´m out of words how much it means to me, THANK YOU!!!

And more music is about to be recorded pretty, pretty soon and I´m really psyched about them new songs, and so are the producer team. So it will be 4 great boogaloo tunes, for sure.

When they are finished and all you´ll find them on Spotify, I-Tunes and every other digital download sites. I have just signed some deals for that so it will be just great to spread the gospel of boogaloo over the web also.

I have also been making plans for a tour in U.S.A. early next year, and THAT people will be a trip!!!

That is was what have happened this week, and I´m already looking forward to next week :-)

Yeah! We had the luxury to play at Stockholms greatest club a couple of weeks ago, Club Nuggets .
And while being onstage and doing the boogaloo I spotted a man with a camera filming the entire show.

Little Green Swamp

Yesterday I tagged along to a studio outside Gothenburg to record some swampy licks & add some backing vocals on my good friend Thomas Ponten´s great band, LITTLE GREEN upcoming album.

It´s always fun to get the question to do something like this.

I maybe didn´t feel like I made the best solo ever, but he was happy and that is what counts.

And I also added some Rolling Stones-ish kinda backing vocals on the very same track and that went very cool.

I´m asked to do some backing vocals later on so that´s cool stuff.

I also got some great news concerning ÅMÅLS BLUESFEST shows last saturday by the announcer at Å.B.F... feels so good!

Just drums & guitars is sexy!

Yeah! Your read right. And to quote my friend & producer K. RAGNSTAM "there´s something damn sexy with just guitars and drums!"
We met up at his studio today to rehearse some for 3 shows that we will do as a duo in aprox two months, since we both have tight schedules we have to meet up this early on, but we like to hangout with each other also of course!
It´s H2H Festival, Krokstrand (NO) & ÅMÅL´s Bluesfestival (SWE) that are gonna get a fair share of some real badass gritty boogaloo!!
It´s me on guitars & vocals of course, and Mr K. on drums, backing vocals, bariton and effects and such.
And fockin hell!!! We had a real blast tonight! We tested 3 new songs (which will also be recorded in the very same studio next month).

It will be gritty & sonic as F***CK, I´ll tell you that musiclovers!

I´m so psyched for these duo shows! So if you have the possiblity, you all need to get your sweet ass´s to any of these 3 shows, they will be one of those shows when people gonna say "I was there..." some years from now.

GOTHENBURG vs STOCKHOLM

Yeah!, the show at OCEANEN, Gothenburg was a really fun one.

I got picked up by my good friend Markus, who also was one of the organizers tonight and we headed off to our rehearsel space to pick up our gear.

Everyone who knows me, also knows that I´m not the most technical talentend guy...but tonight I had to fix the PA-system and this is for me not ligical at all, but I have promised I would do it.

While connecting everything the other band arrived, a band called SIGNEZ, and this show was their livedebut as well.

And they were NERVOUS, and kept asking me over and over again when they could start soundcheck, and I told them that " well I have to connect everything first" and some other stuff needed to picked up before so I send them away to eat so I could do what I was supposed to do alone and not having 5 guys on stage breathing down my neck.

After some hilarious moments and quotes I got everthing running and we got the soundchecks done pretty smoothly.

People started to show up, and there were some kind of dresscode for the party so some people really went for the all in kinda dresses...

Great dinner, and great people and some other people who just were there for the show were arriving and we went on stage around 21.30.

And since the show in Stockholm was great we were in the best of spirits.

It was to be one of those shows that we will remember for all our lifes, it was easily in the top 3 of best shows we´ve done.

And it was so great that it was at my great friend Markus´s party, that feels good

Hampus reminded us that we forgot to play "Chasin the tail" in Stockholm the other day so we focused to not forget that great bootyshaker tonight, BUT we did forget to play "Gone to hell" instead...hahaha.

Well, that´s beauty of playing boogaloo, there will never be a show who will be like the other when Christian The 2120´s are on the prowl!

It was a great party and loads of loving people all around so this was such a great night.

And the the score between Gbg & Sthlm is 1-1

We´ll see what happens next time we are in the capitol to do the boogaloo.

The closest days I will focus on finnish up the songs that I will record in a couple of weeks, and of course book more shows for the fall & winter tours.

And have a small rehearsel for the Åmål´s bluesfest shows, on those two shows I will have my good friend and producer,K.Ragnstam on drums & noisy stuff & the legendary Göran Svenningsson on guitars/bariton on a few songs, gonna be a wicked sounding shows for sure!.

STHLM vs GOTHENBURG

Man!, what a great couple of days it´s been.

We left the rainy Gothenburg early thursday morning for the capitol of SWEDEN.

I have never been a fan of traveling with cars when the trip is longer than 2 hours, and from Gothenburg up to Stockholm it´s around 5 hours drive.

I get soooo damn bored and anxious, BUT we had a great driver on this little trip, Dragan!

He drove like a champ and we only came like 45 minutes late from the orginal get-in time at this really great club called CLUB NUGGETS.

We didn´t bother to do a soundcheck since we have the same lineup as our friends, MOTHER JAMES except the horn section

And since they sounded just splendid we left the venue for a walk in the nice weahter on the cool Södermalm before me and Jon had buisness meeting with my great publisher, Anders from www.misty.se

He had some great things to tell me after his two week long buisness trip in the states a while ago.

And I will let you know when the time is right, there´s some really great stuff in the pipeline, I tell you that much!

The great MOTHER JAMES were up first tonight, and man they were good!

They made me think of the cool flick, The aristocats for some reason, but man they were good.

We ourselves were really phsyched to do the boogaloo.

So we did a really fast changeover and off we went.

It was a cool crowd and as the show progressed people started to dance (which is always nice), and the great promotors Daniel & Martin told me afterwards that people NEVER use to dance to the bands here...I´ll take that we were doing our boogaloo great then...

After the show we just hungout with some old & new friends which we have´nt met for way to long.

Plus that the dj´s were playing the best music ever heard in a club, all night!.

There were no downers during the whole evening! If you ever need to have a great dj, you´d contact these great promotors of CLUB NUGGETS, or if you just want to hear some first class music while drinking those tasty beers and they will deliever.

Last stop after the place closed down was the ´Donk across the street, me, Jon & Hampus had some late night food before stumbled over the street to our fancy hotel and crash out within minutes, at least me.

I heard Jon & Hampus argueing about some stuff that they already started at the ´Donk...they weren´t mad at each other they just disagreed on several points, and it was kinda fun to just hear them going on&on&on&on.

My first show in Stockholm with a full band was just AWESOME!!!

Everything was right, the venue, the promotors, the audience, the dj´s, all the friends, all the dancing, the hotel, the 4 star dinner (since I almost never eat breakfast I don´t know how that one was but I would guess it was also top notch).

I´m looking forward to the show up there, it might be already in june but I´ll let you know as soon as i know it.

We jumped the van with smiling faces and headed home.

Back in the saddle

Yesterday I met up Henk, Kampus & Jon for a rehearsel, since there will be two great shows to do this week.

I haven´t met Hampus(sy) & Henk since the last day of the tour, so we had some catching up to do before we started to do the boogaloo.

And when we started to do just that, it was like when we left off, sounded as great as it did in Leipzig (D) like a month or so, Feeeeels good I must say! Not that I ever doubted that but still.

We´ll meet up tomorrow again, looking forward to that!

Today I will kick back, head off to the rehearsel room to rockout with my other smokin´outfit!, gonna be wicked.

So there´s a lot of guitarplaying this week, just as I like it.

The FUZZ guitarshow

Well, today was a happening in my nerdy world, a guitarshow called FUZZ Guitarshow.
It have been around for quite some time with different organizers, but since the last four years it have been hosted by the great guitarmagazine FUZZ.

But this year it was located on a different place, and what a drag it was to even get there...
I spend like an hour taking a looooong walk from the station to where the venue actually was since the public transportations sucked, as always.
Well, I like taking long walks so I´m not complaining that much, yet!
While arriving I met a whole lot of old friends, that I only seem to meet on events like this nowdays so it was fun.

Up the stairs I ran into my good friend & manager/keyboard player Jon, since he was working at one of these booths.
Started to walk around the venue and starting to checkout if there was something for this old cat.
Of course when it comes to to events like this you get to see these guitars that you will never afford to buy even if you win the lottery, but a nice guitar is a nice guitar to look at, play around with and such right!?
I actually found out that a guitar I once owned for like 15 years ago, have a pricetag like 13000 euros!!!, I made a really good deal when i sold it back then but not this kinda of money, it´s insane!!!, it´s just some great wood with some great electronics for fucks sake!!, bring a guitar like that on a club tour....naah!, I don´t think so...hahaha.

Ran into my old friend Thomas Silver, and we are alike when it comes guitars in more than a few occasions, but most important we like guitars from the infamous lawsuit era.
Not that expensive japanese copies of all the great makers, with the exception that you actually can afford one, two or ten of them and most of them will kick the "originals" ass even on a bad day!
Anyway, he told me that this great shop,(www.helgeshala.com) from down south was having their booth further down the hall & Ooooh yes!!! as the previous years they delievered as always.
BUT!!! the room they had was soooo damn small, and of course the word have been around that they had some killer guitars, good for them, but as a customer it was a drag!

Hope they will get some money back off the fee they have to pay to the organizers for being there, since I wasen´t the only one who complained about this and they probably lost a few customers also just because of this, not only in this booth but also at some other great shops.

I really was looking forward to being able to try out some great GRECO´s , and other great jap´s of course, but it was really a no can do mission.
But I am fortunate to pass their shop in Växjö in a couple of weeks, then I will have my own pace to maybe find a new babe, or two...

I also found a new brand & guitar from the states (at least new for me)KING guitars, they had a really cool telecaster kinda model with a p90 pick up and bigsby tremolo, it was really a cool guitar.
I have to dug into them more for real!

Also ran into my good, good friend & also producer deluxe, don ROBERTO LAGHI (who have done some great work with acts like : The AWESOME MACHINE, LOK, Mustasch, OnPAROLE, Hardcore Superstar, InFlames, Eldkvarn, B*Thong and the list can go on forever, which I haven´t met for over a year or so, we had a quick chat before I felt like it was time to leave.

Overall, except the long walk to the venue, the small and overcrowded booths it was well worth the money to be a total nerd for a couple of hours.

Rehearsels

Yeah!, yesterday was one of those great rehearsels.

When I´m not doing the boogaloo with the mighty 2120´s I play some bad ass guitars with some of the best musicians I´ve come around over the years, and yesterday we added one more into that great line-up, we have had a lot of tryouts with different singers over a long period and yesterday we decided that this dude with such a great pipes & persona, Kaj was welcome onboard this boogietrain if he was into it, and of course he was!!

It feels so good to have such a great singer to front these great songs we´ve been written in the shade for quite some time.

When he´s comfortable with all the songs we´ll add some great keys as well, we know one great dude and he´s into it so in a while you´ll get his name as well.

We have´nt decided what to call the band yet, but it will come natureally during the progress I guess.

And I´m really psyched about tomorrows rehearsel with the hellraising boys I had with me on the european tour.

We will prepare ourselves for a show up in the capitol of Sweden may 13th, I´ve added two more new songs in the setlist so it will be loads of fun to play those hipshaking tunes for the fine people of Stockholm.

No it´s time for some food so over and out for now!

NEW GIG!!!

Yeap people! I have known this for a while but now I can confirm that I will play at GETAWAY festival, Sweden on the 10th of july.

One small artist you might have heard will also play at the same stage the same evening are a dude called Saul Hudson aka SLASH, he once played in a small rock n´ roll band called GUNS n´ROSES.

Other great bands that will play on the festival are: Airbourne, Motörhead, and the Haunted.

Looks like it will be a great weekend for the 2120´s since we also play at ÅMÅL Bluesfestival the same weekend together with way cool acts like T-Model Ford, Taildragger among others.

And I will have two different backup bands with me on these shows, on the Åmål shows I will have the mighty K. RAGNSTAM on drums since we do a duo show there and I will have the great fellas I used and abused on the last european tour at GETAWAY, gonna be wicked!!

touring, movies & music

Yeap musiclovers!

There´s some shows already booked for the upcoming tour in oct/nov 2010.

It´s going to be a wild trip, and a long one, this time we will be out doing the boogaloo for almost twice as long as the previous tour.

A whole lot more dates in Germany & France is goingto be added this time, and of course we will visit lovely Belgium & Netherlands as much as we use to do everytime we are on the road!

I´ll keep you updated with dates and venues as they coming in.

I have also booked some studio time to record 5 more songs, which one we actually played live on the tour called " No need for voodoo " and on this track i will use the fab band i had with me on the last tour, Henk, Jon & Hampus.

And Hampus will also play harmonica on a recording for the first time on a track called " House of lies ", that´s going to be rad!!!

Of course, as always i´m going to mix some electric fuzzed out boogie tunes with some mellow acoustic & grand piano played songs together with the two uber meastros, THE PULCA BROS!.

The tracks are called " Need of being good ", " Ten " , " The Ocean ".

The dates for recording will take place 5th & 6th of june and when those five great songs are done i´ll leave it to the great hands of T.Bövik, why change a winning formula right!

And i watched such a great movie last night, CRAZY HEART.

It was so great, and the soundtrack...Mmmmm you gotta love it!

And the footage made me wanna do my dream trip travel around with my gitar and play at those cool joints everywhere with locals every night and just soak it in and write good songs about it.

I know i will be touring over there pretty, pretty soon but i got so anxious when i watched this great movie!!

You have to see it people of boogaloo!

Aweright!, i will get my ass out of the sofa and take a walk in the city now, i´m a walking man you know, it clears my mind.

I´m so wornout of being "working " at my regular place when i´m not out on the road doing the boogaloo, and i have to say it sucks as a horses ass!!!.

Thank god that i have some great shows coming up soon, and already planning for the next tour which is to take place between october 21st until november 20th aprox.

We will visit Belgium,Netherlands,France,Germany, Austria and maybe even our neighbours down south, Denmark.

A month of boogaloo is what i need for real!.

Other good news are that my publisher is heading west, to the big country called United States to do some great buisness for me, and keep your fingers, toes and everything in between and this will be a very fruitful trip for all parts!!!

Now i will just kick back and listening to some great funk from the early sixties until i have to head off to work again...

Yesterdays show was the last show of the tour this time, and such a show it turned out to be!
Arriving to venue after some strolling down the streets of Liepzig i hook up with my new friend, Thomas.
He was in town for some buisness and he took some time to hang with us the rest of the evening and to enjoy some boogaloo.
We talked about how much he would be able to help out to get great gigs in Germany from now on, and he´s like a BIG spider in the web so this is something really looking forward to, plus I got a new great friend with the same love for music as i do!

We had a local support act, MANGO and they were rocking out really good and their bassplayer! Man what a great bassplayer he was!

And soon it was time for us to do the boogaloo, a fast linecheck and off we went.
And the feedback we got of the wild students fed off on us so we took it up a notch or two...
We didn´t really followed our regular setlist this fab evening. We took the advantage to ask the great crowd what kind of song they wanted to hear, and we took it from there so to speak.
We played for 1 hour and 20 minutes aprox and it was the loudest singalong on this tour, man it felt so good to having those smiling faces sing back to you. I get goosebumps of just thinking of it at the moment.

Me and Jon did an interview for the local paper, from there on it was some great party.
But the cold that i have refused to break out hit me like a ton of brick during the day.
I got to buy this great ginger tea & together with some beers i was ready to sing like a champ, since it was the last show i could go for full throttle without any danger for for the next show, but today i sound like Donald Duck when I´m speaking and the body is so sour, life on the road takes it´s toll sometimes.

I stayed up a bit and around two in the morning i felt like i´m done & said goodnight to my new friends in this great city of heroes (as it called in Germany, I don´t why but they actually were heroes tonight).

We jumped the van around noon and headed for Kiel to take the ferry home to our loved ones, I think there will be a slow night since it´s only like grandparents who travel on the ferry. BUT since the experince we had in Bethune (f) & Herselt (b) we can be proved wrong once again since then it was the oldest who partied the most.

I must say superthanx to everyone we have met, partied with, played for, or just hanged out with, I`M SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE MET YOU GUYS!!!!
Soon it´s time for the tour during the fall, I think it will kick off in late october and continue for a month so keep checking in at this blog or at myspace.

Leipzig...end of the road...almost

We drove to Leipzig via Hamburg to get some breakfast, since it was a sunday and everything was closed and we had a pretty far drive down south to Leipzig we decided to take off after we had some food and coffee.

Jon drives the van like a champ and we arrived at the gig´s promotors place around 20.00, got some food and just hung out at her place.
We were waiting on the band that should open up for us tonight, The Paperplanes.
When they arrived we drove to our hostel, located above the venue!, we like that!
And then a 20 minutes walk through Leipzig to this cool bar called STONED.
We had some beers and i was feeling that my cold was getting down to my throat so i decided to go back to the hostel and get some some sleep.
The rest of the boogalooboys arrived around 06.00 i think...not so much beautysleep for them then right...

Today is the last show of the tour, I have mixed feelings about that, it´s just wonderful to head home to your loved ones and it´s also wonderful to keep on touring like a hobo.
BUT soon we are burning rubber again, that tour will be twice as long as this has been, gonna be wicked I tell you that people!.

I´ll do an update tomorrow when we are on the "dansbands ferry" back home, about how wild the last show end up to be and the ferry that departs from Kiel & arriving just outside Jon´s front door almost.
I will probably have some great stories from what goes on on that trip.

Towards Germany

Yeap! the last two shows on this first leg of the tour are in Germany, and today it´s in Lubeck & the supercool place called RIDERS CAFE.
The biggest stage & best sound on this tour, Hampus even had a drumriser even though he wanted to get rid of it...

We were supposed to be support act to a german band called Eisennach I think it´s spelled, but they had cancelled their show for some reason so it was only us tonight.

It was a great show, even if it was´nt that many people there, but those who were there loved it and so did we.
We just hung out in the cool bar with the staff afterwards went to bed knda eraly for being on tour, even for the young ones....

Off to Limburg

Yeah after a really great evening at BAR 219 we woke up at mr. TIKI KING´s casa.
Got our shit together and jumped the van towards this lovely town.
As we use to do we came in early, so we parked the van just outside the venue and took a walk on the streets of Limburg in the warm sunshine, today it was 19 degrees outside so we surely enjoyed our small sightseeing spree.

Headed back to the club, and met up the owner, a super nice gentleman called Ceasar.
He told us that we would play after tonights soccer game, it was their local team against the biggest team in Belgium and it was apperently a BIG game, what do i know about stuff like soccer...
Anyway! it was instresting to see the locals fill up the club to see the game on a big screen, so I also watched my first soccergame for a loooooong time.

None of the teams won, it got to 1-1 so now they have to have a re-match.

And yes, the spirit in the club was really great and the guy who handled the PA system came so we could do a short linecheck.
We started off doing the boogaloo since we were really anxiuos to play.
People loved it and in the end off the second set i got the people to sing a long so LOOOOUUUD that they even got Hampus to get his shirt off for the last encore! how about that!!!

We had a apartment above the venue so I took off around 03.00 I think and crashed out, I need my beauty sleep you know...

When i woke up and were waking up the partyboys Henk told me that one girl at the venue thought he was 35 and I was his younger cousin at the age of 27....hahahaha, so I rest my case when I say I need my beautysleep...

Back to Antwerp

Yaeh, lovely Antwerp and Bar 219 is on the agenda today.
Just hung out on the town all day, and i went for a haircut.
But to cut your hair abroad with a picture to be sure what you want wasnt that great idea, now I look like I don' know instead...it's only hair I know and it grows fast on me so why bother...but I'm vain so I still nag about it...

Today me & Hampus did a acoustic show, and it was a great, it' s so great to do shows like these once in a while, especially when I'm backed up with pro like Hampus!

We did almost the orginal set with a few gems from the album that we usually don't have on the setlist.
It was a great night with alot of great friends there.
I always loves to come to Bram's place and play the boogaloo.
And after the show we headed home Casa Flap & his super hospitality for letting us stay here over the night.
Antwerp once again showed it's best side for us!

Sin City

We arrived in sin city, Amsterdam around noon.
Found the venue, parked the van and headed out on the town and the sun was shining on us today as well. And it was so warm you had to take your jacket off while walking the streets off Amsterdam.
It's such nice city, even though a bit to stressful for my taste.

Did a late laod in after a few misunderstandings with the promoter, then stress like hell to the hotel where we gonna lay down our beated boogaloo bodies after the show to check in and then back to venue to rockout.
The show was really really great, tonight we were actually on fire!
And we had some important guests at the show so it all felt like JIIIIHAAA!!!

Packed in our stuff in the van to head out o the town, BUT everything closes at 03.00!!!!, in Amsterdam, what's up with that??!!, are we back in sweden already or what...not even Mcdonalds or Burgerking was open...wierd...
But i guess we needed the beatysleep so off to bed we went.

Nothing crazier happend today, but it was an great night with a killer show in front of some really great & important people.
So we are happier than a pig in shit anyway!

New found luxury...

Yeah! Those some days comes when you need them most.
We headed to Geldrop(nl) after a great night at DE RUINE, it was some crazy stuff to rock out there, greeeeeat vibes!
Arriving in Geldrop, the sun was shining at it was actually warm outside without that chilly wind.
Did a quick load in, then headed off to the hotel wich turned out to be a 4 star one!!! some days are like this.
We checked in and just enjoyed ourselves to have the luxury to take a bath, sleep in a nice bed and all that.
We headed back to the club after a few hours of our new found luxury.
Did the soundcheck, got some great food and then we waited for the people to show, the owner said tonight might be a slow night since the easter party he had for 3 days has taken some toll of his customers.
And he turned out be right, headed back straight to hotel after everything to just sleep and such, not hat much party today.
Still we met some great people and had a great time.

Lembeke time

Yeah, this nights gig was the last minute booked by my friend Bux.
It´s a cool DIY place, with a tiny stage with loads of great locals.
We did a soundcheck, then just hanged out at the place while it started to fill up.
We started to rock out around 21.00 and played for some really great and happy loclas for aprox 1 hour & ½ hour.
After the show we got our food, and I went for the pizza which I ate in the bus before passing out.
I was so tired and dirty after not being able to take a shower for 4 days.
So that was the best choice i think, and of course the young ones stayed up and partied some more.

So this morning Hampus,Henk & Jon told me that they had experienced how the "REAL" De Ruine should be experienced...I´ll leave it to them to explain...hahaha

Tonight we are at this fancy hotel, just outside Geldrop where tonights show is, that shower i just took, it was worth a million dollars, I´ll tell you that!
Looking forward to play for the Dutch people again at DE KROEG, and when did the load in before we hit the hotel we met the cool owner, Terry who was soooo hungover since he celebrated his birthday yesterday.
But he seems like a really cool dude so we will celebrate him today as well.

Now I´m off to the other ones who are sitting in the sun outside the hotel and today it´s aprox 20 celcius degrees here so it´s going to be a great evening.

Back to Belgium

Yeah, after last night crazy escapades including 96% liquor, gay men hitting on Henk and looooooads of beers we went back to the venue to pack the bus.
We had to sit and wait for Herve for some time, but as soon as he was there it went superfast to load the bus.
We were sooo hungry after last night dinner misunderstanding, so before we took off to Herselt (B) we grabbed some Mcdonalds first, I have never tasted such a great burger for a looong time if i say so, even if it´s just the old ´Donk.

We came in late to tonights gig,so the owner wasn´t that happy about it, BUT we did a fast load in, a quik soundcheck and started to do the boogaloo right away, it felt good right away and we did really good, i mean REALLY good!!
We sold around 15 cd´s and of them 6 of them was bought of the same guy ´cause he wanted his friends to have some great boogaloo as well but couldn´t come tonight.
And one cool dude didn´t even had an cd player but he bought one anyway!!! that is musiclovers!

Me and Hampus also did a acoustic set with him on percussion & harmonica, just improvised & on the spot with some of my other songs, it was very appreciated and a fun thing to do.

And since Carlo (the owner) is such a great man we got some really first class food, spared ribs, grilled chicken with fresh salad, THIS IS WHAT WE WANT EVERY NIGHT promotors :-)

And the locals was asking us if we could play some more boogaloo for them, and of course we could do that so 3 more songs were thrown in and a great jam in the end based of the Led Zeppelin song "how many more times".
And we are so much welcome back again, even that we did come in late!
After that it was partytime, again.
It was cool cause most of the most party people could be our parents or even grand parents... The people in Herselt sure know how to do the boogaloo and they have had years of practice!

After a couple of hours we headed to were we should camp out, and it was at a locals place in the woods.
It was a trip I´d say so much... and he had 3 dogs and pony in his house!!!
I was bushed so i went for bed almost right away while the rest stayed up and did some more party.

It might sound like I´m the party booper,but since all my experience over the 20 years of a touring musician i know that the thing a singer needs most are sleep to keep their voice,that´s why I´m always first in bed, nothing else and to my benefit to the young ones, I can say I done this trip a few times before...hahaha.

We woke up early when the pony was knocking on the door in true PIPPI LÅNGSTRUMP fashion to get his breakfast so we took the que and thanked Sven for his hospitality and jumped the van to drive to Lembeke (B) and have breakfast at... Mcdonalds, but i went for the healthy choice and grabbed a Ceasar salad.
It was a great choice!

Yeah!
We packed the van really fast and headed for ARRAS (F), only 2 hours drive away, yeap I´m good in what i do!!!
This was looking like an really old city, loads of nice old buildings and such.
Found the venue right away,but we were there early so we just kicked back outside, we even played some acoustic songs for the people who passed by, I rehearsed some for the soloshow I´m about to do when we come back to Antwerp.
And Hampus, as the super musician he is pulled out his harmonica and we jammed along.

Met the great rockabilly band, The Honeymen who played there night before, we swapped cd´s and i really like their style since most of the rockabilly stinks if you ask me.

It was time to do the load in, small place who was runned by this BIG great fellow called Herve.
A qiuck soundcheck, the monitors & pa system was a little to weak so I got this "little richard" sound on my vocals.
Herve wanted us to 3 sets so I decided to do the first one solo, tryout some new songs and play some from the album aren´t in the setlist but still on the album.
I went on and played like 9 songs, and felt good.
Then we did our two electric sets and they were really fun and was alos up on the tables playing guitar, also did my Jimi Hendrix thing and played behind my neck since i know people like stuff like that.

We were a bit hungry,since the dinner was only 1 & a ½ COQ de Mousier for me or whatever it´s spelled.
It was the venues specialty, which is a regular toast with cheeze & ham but drenched in beer before it got toasted...
So there isn´t stranged that we had to comunicate trhough google translate...hahaha
It was good but not for dinner :-)

We stayed at a hotel a bit outside the centre so we had our own driver to take us back and forth, which was nice.

We also experienced som 96 % string alcohole, which actully burn while I got it on my skin
But i know my manners so i tasted it anyway.

Herve & the driver (and owner of the hotel) are booking a big festival here in ARRAS in june next year, OH YEEEEAH we are invited to come and spread the boogaloo then also!!

It was a really fun night with Henk getting hit by not only one BUT two gay men!.
And this is all because he shaved off his mustache...hahahaha.
so much for the Freddie Mercury thing...
